luxury villas with swimming pools French RivieraThe French Riviera is reputed to be one of the most glamorous and sophisticated coastlines in the world; a playground for the rich and famous who are drawn to this breath-taking region every year. But what is also true of the Cote d’Azur is that it is a fantastic place to bring the kids. It goes without saying that most children love water, and the French Riviera is blessed with more than 70 miles of beautiful beaches, many of which are within an easy drive of our luxury villas to rent. Moreover the vast majority of our rental properties are luxury villas with swimming pools, offering hours of entertainment without even leaving home. But for those of you looking to explore the area with your children, here are our top five kid-friendly activities on the Cote d’Azur:
1. Le Bois de Lutins is a magical playground set in a huge area of forest near the town of Villeneuve Loubet. Here you will find enchanting tree houses built high up in the branches, which are linked by netted walk ways and crazy slides. There are also giant inflatables, an underground troll cave and a host of other activities for children and young at heart.
2. Marineland is the biggest marine life theme park in Europe, situated at the entrance to Antibes. The highlights of a trip to this extremely well presented marine park are the orca whale and dolphin shows, which are truly amazing. The park also hosts hugely popular evening events for those renting property in the South of France in July and August . 3. Parc Phoenix is an oasis of exotic gardens in the heart of Nice, providing families who rent any of our Nice apartments hours of fun in the height of the summer. The garden’s tally of more than 2500 plant species are on view in its giant greenhouse, one of the biggest in Europe, while outside there are animals such as wallabies, prairie dogs and pelicans. The park also has a great playground, picnic area and huge lake as well as a café.
4. The Musée Océanographique de Monaco is a world-class oceanography museum situated near the Prince’s Palace of Monaco. Worth a journey from any of our rental properties along the coast, the museum has an excellent aquarium with a touch pool, as well as a number of fascinating exhibitions such as the current shark exposition.
5. A slightly further drive is the Alpha Wolf Park, in the Mercantour mountains. The park, nestled in the Boréon valley not far from the town of Saint Martin Vésubie, is home to three packs of wolves which you can see in their natural habitat.
